A misty Savannah path winds beneath ancient live oaks and glowing lampposts in this atmospheric landscape about trust, mystery, and moving forward without needing to see the whole road ahead. Peaceful, magical, and a little mysterious, it invites each viewer to bring their own meaning to the scene.

About Your Canvas

Ancient live oaks stretch across a quiet Savannah path while early morning fog softens the landscape and glowing lamps gently illuminate the way forward.

There is something mysterious about the scene, but for me, the feeling is not eerie.

It is about trust.

The Story Behind the Art

Savannah sometimes wakes beneath a beautiful blanket of fog.

When I created this piece, I was thinking about those quiet mornings when the familiar landscape becomes softer, less certain, and somehow more magical.

The path quickly became a metaphor for life.

We so often want to know exactly where we are going before we take the next step. We want the fog to lift first. We want guarantees.

But life rarely works that way.

Sometimes all we can see is the small stretch of road immediately in front of us.

And we move forward anyway.

For me, Through the Savannah Fog is about letting go of the need to know what comes next and trusting that it is okay to continue even when the destination is hidden from view.

The fog also brings a feeling of mystery and possibility — as though something beautiful may be waiting just beyond what we can see.

The old-fashioned lamps have another personal meaning for me. They remind me of the streetlamps of Paris, where I grew up. Their shape feels familiar and almost friendly, like little points of light quietly showing the way.

People who see this piece at the park often tell me they love its eerie quality because it reminds them of the mysterious side of Savannah.

That is not quite how I experience it — but I love that they see something different.

Art belongs partly to the person who creates it and partly to the person who stands in front of it.

It really is in the eye of the beholder.
